Three ways to land a job interview in the US

Today I want to talk about three ways to land a job interview in the US, because it is an easiest way to get a phone call from a recruiter to figure out if you are a good candidate for the position, doing a screening with you.

It is not worth it enough to create an account on those websites that offer different jobs, where you need to fill out a form with your resume.

You can do it on many websites created for that purpose, but if you have your social media to show yourself and make connections, it will be more accessible, and you can be sure that someone is behind that opening.

Almost everybody uses social media every day, and this is an excellent way to have more opportunities to get a job interview.

What are those three ways I am mentioning to land a job interview?

  1. Having a LinkedIn profile

It is a perfect way to apply for a job because the recruiter or the company’s Human Resources is directly posting the job offer.

Using this strategy, you can know the company that is looking for a candidate and directly interact with the person.

Remember, networking, and building connections are essential to get at least a recommendation for a screening.

But not only is LinkedIn the platform you can use. On Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, you can see job offers to apply directly using the instructions they offer you on the platform.

  2. Try to have a referrals

Sometimes recruiters send emails to people who they have been screened and have found a position in a company to them, asking for people they can recommend for a specific job in their field.

Recruiters do it because the relationship with the person they reached out to is reliable.

It is easier to start the process with candidates that this person recommended because they will surely match the position and will be a good worker and a good human being.

Your task here is to tell to your friends and connections in your career field that you are looking for a job.

It will be a snowball, and when someone hears about a job offer that matches to you, they will recommend you.

If, for example, you only know some of your connections on LinkedIn, it is an excellent way to introduce yourself to someone who works in something related to your job and expand your network.

You can tell them that you are looking for a job, and they can recommend you if any vacancy appears.

You need to show them something about yourself as a person and as a professional. Try to tell them why you can be a good referral.

  3. Search the right groups to participate

LinkedIn and Facebook have groups related to your interests. Those can be in the jobbies field or professional.

If you feel uncomfortable reaching out to someone in your network that you don’t know. You can discuss any article that someone posted in the group, participate in a conversation, comment on some post, or post anything you want to say.

You can implement those strategies to show others that you belong to the professional field. Making genuine relationships take time, but it pays off to reach your professional goals.

The more people know about you as a person and professional more opportunities you have to land an interview or be a referral from someone.
